Endlessly Creative II 2008

        Endlessly Creative II

I write for the inner man.

I write for the outer man –

The vain man, the me man.

Like Leonardo, I see landscapes,

Cityscapes, faces that escape

From pebbles that I pluck

Each time I get the post.

Creation knows no limits.

Crazy faces in the spaces,

Their limits are my limits

And my limitations theirs.

There was no skyline

When da Vinci peered at ceiling cracks.

What city

Did he see

Interpreting the line and plane?

The country? town?

Even he, da Vinci had a curtain,

And because creation is subjective,

Subject world formed in the mind,

I can approach my inner, outer, vain –

My me man

Seeing faces new, unknown,

Un-specied and unnamed.

As many as are pebbles

They’ll be born.

End Of Cat Book 2008

        End Of Cat Book
A book mostly about one cat: Sootis.

Not purposely, but purposeful?

Time tells.

Yesterday was his last day.

He seemed to represent Cat-dom,

Characteristics out of Africa

And Egypt.

He was Cat,

Inspiring to look at –

Certainly to watch.

In our garden now,

A big translucent quartz his headstone –

Daffodils to come.

I prepared for days –

Seventeen, to be exact.

But on the eighteenth,

Finding him,

Still warm

But absolutely gone

A stream

That sometimes gushes, sometimes runs

Betrays such preparation. I

Don’t think I’ll ever write

About

Felines again,

Need gone.

Empty Day 2008

        Empty Day

Empty day after prolific day.

Not driven to produce,

It’s to reduce the drive,

Accept the dive,

Think it’s okay

And think.

And do.

And wait.

And joy the date.

Employable And Still Enjoyable 2008

       Employable And Still Enjoyable

Over seventy and got a gig.

A blessing in this age-ist day

When pensioners are sloughed away

Funneled into categ-

ories;

Shoved or gently eased.

I’m pleased.

Eccentric II 2008

        Eccentric II

Eccentric follows fantasy,

Puts trends aside,

The threads of impulse

Finding rhythms

Which elude the rest.

With love of labor his,

He loves the fertile in himself,

Sees the fertile in a businessman, a calf.

Inventive,

Curious in others’ eyes,

Axis of support off center

But supported nonetheless,

He’s fostering a foster in himself,

Building, liberating.

The eccentric does it best

By being,

With and through the deviating axis

[Of support].

Eccentric 2008

       Eccentric

The eccentric follows fantasy,

Puts trends aside,

The threads of impulse

Finding rhythms

Which elude the others.

The eccentric makes

A love of labor,

Loving progress in the other,

Loving interest in the others,

Loving everything that’s fertile,

That’s inventive,

That shows promise.

Fostering the foster,

Building up and liberating,

The eccentric does it best

By being.

Eat The Donut 2008

       Eat The Donut

Everything you do, find, use

Is gonna have some flaws.

Accept the hole

But eat the donut,

And consume

Creatively.

Drinking Wine At Eva’s 2008

       Drinking Wine At Eva’s

You honored me

By sharing wine

I knew was rare.

I honored you

By drinking it –

I, who refuse the most.

We made a toast.

It was exquisite, as you said;

The taste, the look, the tint, the scent,

Went to the senses (and my head).

I relished it, aware

That you were sharing

Wine intended for a few

(Possibly just you)

And I, I was included.

Dream of An Eternal Life 2008

Dream of An Eternal Life

 Why not?

In, out

Of

Anybody’s body

Bubbling, troubling thoughts

Depending on the frame of mind.

Doomsday feelings,

Doomsday hints,

Revelations, big and small –

 It all

Boils down

To finding

Saving

Peace.

Down At Your Feet 2008

       Down At Your Feet

I lay

My day

Down at your feet.

I know

That you

Don’t have a foot,

Let alone two.

I‘m not alarmed

That there’s no whoNo what,For that you’re there,

Is where I’m at,

Trying to listen for the voice-

less mouth to follow.
