A Long, Long Time Ago 2010

       A Long, Long Time Ago

I asked for solitude.

You gave me solitude,

A life-retreat

To write,

sing, play,

Perfecting style-way,

Strength as eccentricity,

No pressure to compress me,

What I am evinced in peace.

You gave me one to love,

And all the time reward

In every shape and form;

A gift of every shape and form

No matter what the shape and form:

Adversity turned on its head.
