Dry Title, Exciting Content 2011

Dry Title, Exciting Content

Full of imagery

The poet names; names that I,

Concrete as street,

Concrete as feet,

Cannot connect and never buy.

Electrifying is an essence,

Evocative, what sings

the mind

Which makes the thought,

Creating dithyramb and sonnet,

Troubadour and laureate.

Muse that muses uses thought

To give up thought

To come to truth.

Titles howsoever dry,

Can modify.

Titles howsoever dry,

Change lives.

Life, Death & Love 2011

Life, Death & Love

It doesn’t seem to be

About another thing but three:

Life, death and love,

Its billion permutations;

Anarchies of combination;

Breakings up, solutions

Solved with luminescent love,

Refined,

Examined,

Mastered.

Read the masters.

Read the good;

Practitioners who understood

Defenselessness; life without secrets:

Yes,

It doesn’t seem to be

About another thing than these.

Hot Bath 2011

Hot Bath

I’m mean;

I’m super economic;

I’m environmentally aware.

More:

Conscientious,

I save energy wherever…

(It is wrong to waste it).

Yet,

There is a sin,

One luxury, one trap

Straight from the tap,

Filled to the top:

A bath at night

By candlelight;

A cat,

His walking act

Along the edge

Defying laws

Because

He doesn’t care;

The temperature,

The narrow ledge,

His tail dripping.

Dearest reader, don’t begrudge

This one indulgence.

Esoteric or Exoteric? 2011

I wrote this today, March 15, 2011.   A little confused as to what to call it, I called it Secret or Obvious or Esoteric Or Exoteric.  It seems to me that when the worst happens then the only thing you can do is turn to God.  You are, you realize, alone; alone with your maker.  There has always been you, your mind and how you perceive…  The unsolved problem is to make this understanding real.

Perhaps I’ll send this into the magazine as well as making it a blog. It certainly is, as the Swedes say, ‘actuellt'(which, roughly translated means ‘in the news or the news – I don’t know how to translate it properly and there is no word I can think of in English that does it justice – been here too long, I guess.)

Esoteric Or Exoteric?

Imagine that your relatives,

Have vanished in a tidal wave,

An earthquake.  You’re alive.

You’re left to shake.

What can you say to save your sanity?

This mantra:

“Well, it’s You and me kid – You and me.”

There is no other choice.

It should be

What you’re saying anyway

Throughout out the day.

There’s only your small voice

Until you also go away.

An esoteric truth – or is it obvious?

Tsunami Expected 2011

Tsumani Expected

Expected, waited for, prepared for:

Tidal power, speed and height

In waves one two, yes, three:

Engulfing pushing, swamping, drowning.

Tsunami.

The facts & figures do not care,

Aren’t there.  (Of course they are).

Watching as the boats and cars

Smash into boats and cars:

An ocean on and in.

In nature’s unconcern

A railroad train is missing,

In a wink, a vanishing;

Dismissing in a sink.

Treasures, bodies – it’s not over.

Farm, land; home, loan,

Air/sea; earth’s chain;

Tide; its glide across.

Fini? Non! Not fini!

Quake, tectonics, tsunami;

The pickings up, -out, buryings;

Two legg-ed, four-, creep-, flying things;

The mournings and the buildings up:

Waiting.

Later:

Nuclear.

Heat, leak, explosions:

It, the whole beyond my words

In a last days’ ratio predicted,

Not expected.
