Miscellany 2013

Miscellany

Life goes along

With map pre-measured.

Map in fact,

Pre-everything.

I have to think about myself.

I have to think about who-am-I;

To do some more than think:

To feel, locate

The place, the dot

I make assumptions:

That I’m real,

That I can feel I’m real,

That in the first place,

There’s an I,

And that the I’s behind my face,

And not my face,

And not my hands

And not my feet,

And not the bits inside my body.

That the I is something I can know,

And someone I must value

Because I can never leave it.

It’s unproved but it’s a starting point:

I am me forever.
