Talent Wins Out: Mussorgsky & Turing

Talent wins out.

Not living to see it – he, she or I –

There it is winning.  Modil Mussorgsky:

Reviled, poor thing.

Sure of his talent;

In drunkenness singing it out

To the beer halls and reveling, rivaling

Borodin, Cui, the best;

Dying, not knowing, kowtowing; his motto

To never desist.

Another deceased

And genius of geniuses: Alan M Turing,

Mathematician of the highest order,

Codebreaker, thinker, philosopher;

More, much, much more; turning

Mind to the needs of mankind –

Nobody needed him – wanted his kind.

Even this day a new theory confirmed!

Driven to suicide. Gay.  We were blind.

Reviled, revealed, revived and revered:

Such a world!

But talents win out in the end.
