Nothing Never Happens

(The Ordinary Life)

This is my ordinary life:

Sitting quietly;

Thinking, pen in hand,

Outcome not much – or much originality;

Accepting either as they land.

The tummy filled,

A sitting still,

Whose appellation could be Indolence;

Not pressed by outside/outward bound

Impulses,

Pulse a steady sixty-eight,

I sit and wait for nothing,

Because, as you know,

Nothing never happens.
