There Were Murders In Connecticut

How can I not ruminate

About the children in Connecticut?

A sick society

(not just a hiccup)

That breeds men of twenty

(twenty men of twenty –

Men a-plenty

Who, in rage, de-empathize,

Kills mothers,

Twenty-seven others:

(grownups, kids

and probably himself ā€“ well see).

Single-minded, self-inflicted, unrestricted tragedy,

Futility, un-sanity,

Personified on paper now,

For you to view in writing

For the power in remembrance.

But it hurts.
