Last Day Of June Two Thousand Fourteen 6.30.2014

Last Day Of June Two Thousand Fourteen

Here I am again

Observing without feeling –

Well, one faint with disappointment.

Looking at, and writing in and on

The thirtieth of June,

Two thousand fourteen.

Days symbolic of a shortening;

Evaporating and dispersing;

In the hands of fortune

Un-touch- and un-catchable.

If I really caught the date,

I’d fear it, maybe hate it

As one nears an end

One does not comprehend.

“Thirty days hath September,

April, June and November”.

The sum of days peculiar to

The losing of the light;

A little more each night.

And while I write – eleven thirty-five pm –

The sky is bleeding reds, pinks, purples, blues and in-

Describable

At best.

It’s time to rest.

I babble.
