The Poet Pondered (to those of use who reflect)

The Poet Pondered

The poet pondered over

Night dreads, terrors, sweats:

Night solitude –

Its message

And its usefulness.

It is the night –

Something about the night.

It is the mini-death

Night signifies, personifies; embodies.

The ultimate aloneness

And the silence.

She pondered

And she understood

Within a breath.

The next step was

To overcome it.

Help the others –

Sisters, brothers.

Poet’s task.

But then,

At this point

She can only ask –

And when she cures the mare of night

Give out

The remedy.
