We spend our lives,
Our nights, our days
Alone.
When I awoke this morn,
I said to It
“I’m glad that I have company”.
I felt that I had company:
The main advantage of belief.
It’s company we want
When there is no one there
To talk to,
Listen to,
Encourage thought,
Help steer the mind.
“Hello”, said I,
Without an expectation.
A strange sensation –
Not one there except the air,
But I feel comforted and confident
The whole day long,
[As if] nothing can go wrong.
What could be better?
I can follow impulses and intuition
To the letter.
I awoke this day
Without the need to pray,
But needed company.
