Fooling Around Or, Every Movement Has A Purpose

Every movement has a purpose

Can be used, but only if you’ve

got the purpose

In your groove,

Your mental groove,

Your mindful groove;

Not thinking about aim or goal

But knowing that you’ve got a tool

Right there.

Attentive, in it!

We pass most minutes all

alone:

On the john, hands joined in prayer.

Today in the tub

I used the scrubbing

To focus on weaknesses,

Notice the weaknesses,

Exercise weaknesses,

Cleaning the washcloth

By scraping with fourth,

Then with pinky, then thumb,

Scratching and pushing

At spots as I spied them.

Not for the cleanliness,

But for the fun of fooling around,

Aware-ful

And careful

and sound.
