It can be anything,
And what you’ll see is what you’ll get.
The world’s a theme,
And how I see is what I feel,
And what I feel is what you get.
How you interpret is your business:
Mangy dog that pleases you, which senses,
Leaning on the brain
Determine what is sane, a stain humane;
Worthy of a picture frame.
One thinks of Goya, Guernica, Uccello,
And our individual, unorthodox Lerin.
Sensitive and geniuses, all these men
In ways that touch their times.
Beauty’s in it all.
The horror of the war,
The walls that fall:
It may sound awful.
Death and smoke, no jot of humour.
Yet the eye is strange,
And what we think and how we see
On any given daily change
Determines what the qualities of forms that please.
Life is strange –
The senses too.
Decrying attitudes and visions,
And the crimes of war’s decisions
Art can be an anything.
As long as it is true – to you.
