Day’s Word of Love: Encourage
Waking up this morning,
Husband telling me how loved I am;
Emails that they loved my poem,
FB Likes or Comments warm:
Other sources much the same,
Wondering what it really means to be encouraged,
What was it a gauge of?
Does it cheer, uplift, spur, motivate?
Support, endorse and stimulate?
Vitalize, invigorate?
I suddenly began to see the processes
Simply, without self-importance;
Rather, self-effacement’s sense.
Every compliment a nudge,
The second and prime syllable…’courage’;
To become that slight bit bolder,
Keep on going as you are;
That although of insignificance, are star
To shine and build the other.
Courage as a term of hope;
’En’courage as the rope that binds
To form the confidence to carry on:
I’d found the answer to my question.
