It All Passes #2
The strangest thing and realised,
Each time surprised:
Praised, eulogised, the googled photos;
Villains, heroes,
Scenes from yesteryear,
The most admired and desired,
Auras and tiaras not required anymore.
Adjectival used-to-be’s, unimportant,
‘Former’, previously, gone by…
Gone within a blinking eye,
It’s passed us by.
Praying, thinking, thanking, hoping.
One learns something, goes on groping.
Nothing’s new – this coming, growing and then going.
What we were accustomed to:
The stylish trends,
The what and who… they end, it ends.
Conversant or acquainted with,
De rigour, chic, glamorous,
What’s ‘in’ and who, the ‘all the rage…’
My goodness, ageing is the gauge of age.
Yet be advised:
To not ignore or brush aside
The end that’s ended.
Though now is just a speck of nano-
What is, is there to pivot on,
Reflect upon
And let it pass.
