Showing Your Weaknesses: A Manifesto

Showing Your Weaknesses: A Manifesto**

For better or for worse,
I have a friend who reads my verse.
Her judgments put me in my place:
A teaching blessing of rare boldness.
Often nothing to caress,
I must confess I learn a lot
Of what is recommendable, what not.

Should one detail all one thinks –
What’s fine, what stinks?
Does showing I do any good
For others? I think that it should.
It could.

Hence, person’s need to hide, be covered.
Its quality forever hovering, lingering or fluttering…
Why prevent yourself from uttering
What hangs around?
The very ground to what you are?

You are an influence where e’re you go,
What e’er you say, what e’er you do.
It’s unavoidable. So,
If you do what’s meant each moment,
Sent each moment,
It has got to be apparent
For yourself and someone with the selfsame
Need, creed, seed, breed, plead, bleed…
You will have succeeded
In your art, your heart, your part
In life.
Who could want more?
