Me, Currently
Skin on limb and body loose –
A drooping noose.
Memory-bank a shade short-term.
Outlooks, viewpoints rather firm
With joyous moods, a flat caboose*
Muscles shrinking without fuss,
Thus, mortality the only thing
Nearing me, you, all of us.
Side by side opposites
That ride on one another’s backs.
Changes in the mirror
Ranging from approval to the stacks
Of horror in said mirror.
Day by day the current now,
Toe to eyebrow, no mere sprinkle,
In the throes of wrinkle’s sinkholes,
Wrinkles’ tinkles taking over
What was once Arlene Faith Nover
Who, though mapping out,
Adapting to the processes
Has no more no’s but only yeses.
All that one can say and see
Is Now’s a suture to the future –
And will always, always be.
