A person who seeks by contemplation and self-surrender to obtain unity with or absorption into the Deity or the absolute, or who believes in the spiritual apprehension of truths that are beyond the intellect:
A Mystic’s Quest*
(in there somewhere out there)
In there somewhere,
Out there some there.
While the whole of me,
A guest in quest of mystery:
An altogether unseen deity,
inexplicable, perplexing .
Baffling, taxing
Yet revealed to those who yield…
In all concealed
How to find It in the all:
There the quest,
The mystic’s test.
Do we have no choice but one,
Belief, acceptance, faith – e’en none?
The key to find the sun in One.
Supposing one does all things right.
(quite, quite, quite quite hard enough)
Zest, aims, means …and all that stuff.
Tired of entanglements
In life’s problems and involvements
One yearns back to peace and silence..
Bending to the starts and ends;
Continuing, to start again;
Seeing in a new, more hope-filled way;
viewing circumstances differently,
Knowing it’s one’s nature that supplies it all:
The sudden urge to rise from falls.
Regret, repentance, flaws reversed,
Frames of reference new rehearsed.
The answers in there, out somewhere;
Unprovable, yet treasure trove
Of endless worth when once uncovered.
