Growth Pushes Upwards From Below
Sitting on the toilet seat
I watch my polished toenail,
A white bit sticking out,
Showing, growing from below.
Ah, think I, “It’s all like that”.
Jumping to the end, I see
It’s all about re-forming mind,
An under-mind.
From thereon upwards
With its threads,
Synapses taking self’s life outwards
Into right instinctive choices –
Bright, light, great instinctive choices,
So restrained,
You could not even call them hunches –
More, direct & un-reflected bunches.
How agreeable this thought instinct is.
How enjoyable its business,
Growing, as it were, from nowhere
To where nature turns to actor.
