Why can
My can
Opener
Not un-can
When wrist and thumb,
Which work un-fumbling,
Grip and turn,
And in return
Get zilch – a piece of metal,
Quarter-opened,
Spurting in my face,
Its contents teasing, visible,
Its filling inaccessible
And unobtainable. I hate
Those days.
