Standing At The Sink 2013

Standing At The Sink

Standing at the sink

Thinking

About you, God:

Focus of doubt’s questioning

And thank you’s for

The things I more

And more perceive.

Don’t you, dear reader, bore yourself

Drifting around in thoughts circuitous?

I recommend this exercise

Brought down from practice –

Mine.

Let’s see.

There seems to be a correlation

Between

That

And what

Rewards I get.

Some kind of mystery

I simply

Take with open fist:

Synchronic-

ity

Wed to serendipity.

You’ve heard of neurogenesis?

(No doubt you have).

The brain keeps growing,

Brain cells building new brain cells.

And I, and you, and we

Empowered, in control

By virtue of the things we do.

And thinking about you, God

Seems to subsidize

The brain supply

With more than any other thing I know, so,

Simply,

Standing at the sink has made me grow

This very minute.  Oh!

Words I Love 2008

Words I Love

Serendipity;

Synchronicity;

Put together

I feel

Nothing’s ever

Going wrong.

That it’s timed

And working out;

All timed,

And most of all,

A gift from nowhere.
