I Live Like A Caveman 2004

   I Live Like A Caveman

I know I’ve got to eat and wash,

Pee and t’other,

Fetch and shop,

Hold house together;

Fulfill the plans that structure day.

And still I live, free – like a caveman

With responsibilities and duty,

Love and song, free for beauty,

Heart and art:

Caveman must have lived this way:

Sticking-at-ness to survive,

Pointing at what’s good to know.

I live like a caveman,

But it doesn’t show,

(Except for a propensity

For eating with my hands.)
